Q: What size are your blueprints?
A: The Classic Take-down Recurve blueprints are 35″ wide x 23″ tall. The HAMMER Hybrid Longbow blueprints are 70″ wide x 23″ tall. All of the blueprints are drawn precisely to finished size (100% to scale).
Q: What type of files are the downloads?
A: Each download file is a compressed “ZIP” file folder that includes one or more Adobe Acrobat files (“PDF” files). Once the file is downloaded and decompressed, the individual PDF files can be viewed on your computer using free Adobe Reader software. This software is likely already installed on your computer, but if not, it is available as a free download from the Adobe website at Get Adobe Reader.
Q: My ZIP file didn’t decompress…how do I open the file?
A: The ZIP file should have automatically decompressed on your desktop after downloading. If it didn’t decompress automatically, try double-clicking on the file. It should then decompress so you can access the enclosed files.
Q: Where can I get my blueprints printed?
A: It is best to get them printed at your local full service copy/print center who has an oversized printer. Staples, FedEx Office, Office Depot, and many other local quick print stores do a very nice job and have excellent customer service. You can also order oversized prints from some of these stores from their websites. Read how and where to get blueprints printed on our articles page entitled “How to print blueprints.”
Q: What size are your instructions booklets?
A: All of the instructions booklets are 8-1/2″ x 11″. They are PDF files. They are easily printed on your home printer or you can have them printed at most local copy/print stores. If you get them printed at the local copy/print store, you can save paper by asking them to print on both sides of the paper.
Q: Do you test the blueprints?
A: Yes. All of the bows in our blueprints have been built and tested for performance, stability, and good shooting behavior. In fact, these bow designs have been tweaked many times when prototyping the bows to optimize the designs.
Q: How do I use the blueprints?
A: There is a complete description included with each blueprint and instructions booklet, plus there is also a description located on our articles page entitled “How to use blueprints.”
Q: Can you design/create a custom blueprint for my bow design?
A: No, this service is not available.
Q: Are you working on any new blueprints to sell?
A: Yes, there are several bows being designed and tested. These include additional limb lengths of the Classic Takedown Recurve, an ILF version of the Classic Takedown Recurve, a Super Kodiak reproduction, and a “subtle” reflex/deflex longbow. Please check back for new releases and follow us on Facebook.
Q: I purchased blueprints or booklets and want a refund. Can you send me a refund?
A: Yes. Your satisfaction with digital blueprints and booklets is guaranteed for 30 days after purchase. If you are unhappy with them for any reason, just contact us for a full refund with no questions asked.
Q: Are your booklets and instructions booklets copyrighted?
A: Yes. They are fully copyrighted. You are purchasing the right to print as many copies of our blueprints and booklets as you want for your personal use. Please do not make copies for your friends or share the files by e-mail or over the internet. I have spent hundreds of hours drawing the blueprints and thousands of dollars building and testing the bows. If you had invested this much in creating your own original product, then you would ask the same from your customers. By selling these products, I am able to support my retirement, which makes it possible to create them for you. Thank you in advance for your support.
Q: Can I sell your booklets and instructions booklets?
A: No. They are fully copyrighted and should not be shared or sold.
Q: Can you give me a discount?
A: No. Given our price point, please don’t ask. If you are a non-profit organization with a heart warming story, please contact us to request consideration.
Q: Do you provide troubleshooting and support?
A: We will do our best to help you be successful with your project. Please send us an email or contact Jim Thorne at Facebook.
Q: Why should I buy your blueprints and instructions booklets?
A: All of our blueprints and instructions booklets are designed by a professional graphic designer. They are the best-looking, most accurate, and most functional blueprints available. We did the hard part of prototyping the bows for performance, stability, and longevity when creating these blueprints. You can save a considerable amount of time and money by using our blueprints to replicate these proven designs.
Q: Who handles your shopping cart payments and can I trust them?
A: PayPal. They are the largest provider in the world. They are fast and secure. You never provide your credit card data to this site. To find out more or sign up for an account visit the PayPal website.
Q: Will my finished bow have a certain draw weight?
A: Finished draw weights are suggested but impossible to guarantee. The thickness charts provided with each blueprint are based on suggested thicknesses of fiberglass and wood laminations. If you build your bow according to our plans and suggested layup, the finished draw weight of your finished bow should come out very close to the draw weight listed on the chart. Disclaimer Policy.
